When choosing the perfect window treatment, many people in our area are faced with a challenging issue with the window trim. Often, our windows don’t offer recess (depth) in which to have a true “inside mount”.  This often results in shades or blinds that protrude into the room causing a few issues.

First and obvious are aesthetics. The window treatment doesn’t look like it was meant for the window and doesn’t flow well with the room.

Next, a gap is created between the back of the shade material and the face of the window trim.  Now we have a loss of privacy through the gap.  This gap also lets a lot of light leak through.  People who like dark rooms or shelter from that unfortunately placed streetlight will recognize this issue.

For that matter, the window treatment can’t dampen sounds from the outside as well as it could if we had a true inside mount or outside mount covering the entire opening plus a little extra.

Further the gap doesn’t allow the blind to insulate as well as it could.

Fortunately for those of us with this issue, we can solve these issues our custom shutters! Custom shutters can effectively address many window trim issues.

We simply design the shutter to “take over” the existing window trim.  This creates a custom look that appears though this is part of the original intent of design

We have various custom shutter frames available to create the perfect look by placing the frame directly on top of the molding

In doing this, we check a lot of boxes.  We dramatically improve the aesthetics of the room.  Privacy and excess light leakage are no longer issues because we have closed that gap with our frame.   This application significantly increases energy efficiency and reduces noises heard from outside.

Shutters are a very durable window treatment and are intended to last the life of your home.  No strings to wear out!!  Since they are permanent, they actually increase the value of your home (just like new cabinets).

By integrating shutters with your existing window molding, you can achieve many practical benefits and a more polished look to your home.
